CBCS offers impartial grading and certification for comic books. From the moment your books enter into their facility they are handled with the upmost care by their highly trained professional staff who take every precaution to safely house your comic books while in their care. Their facility boasts a heavily fortified, climate controlled vault, and state-of-the-art security cameras that record and save, the actions of every CBCS employee in every room where your treasured comic books will be during the certification process.
Slabs are crystal clear and have tamper evident, built in security systems which are free of newton rings. Each label is checked for spelling mistakes or any other problems to make sure the comic is secure, that the label matches the encapsulated book, as well as being checked for any major scuffs and/or abrasions.
Using the expertise of world renowned autograph experts, CBCS also offer the opportunity to have unwitnessed signatures verified whilst allowing your collectibles to be appraised and encapsulated.
Unfortunately there are no guarantees that a siganture will be verified. If a signature cannot be verified you are not obliged to have your book encapsulated.
CBCS do offer this service, however your art will not receive a grade. Whilst we are finding our feet, we will not be offering the service where art can be verified. If you are interested in submitting art, remarques or blank sketches for verification please contact info@bearmaximum.co.uk. Once we have sufficient interest we will reach out to you for a specific submission.
Once the submission is sent from the UK, we expect the service to take around 10 weeks to be returned to us.
Submissions through Bear Maximum are based on a community approach, in order to try and save money on postage. However, if other members of your particular submission delay sending payment or items, this may result in your books taking longer to return to you than expected.
Customers who cause delays may cause their submission to be postponed until later a later date and in certain circumstances may mean that their books are returned and a refund issued.
Priority services are available through CBCS but at this time, to keep costs as low as possible, we are not offering this.
CBCS accept Golden to Current Age comic books but please note that at this time, Bear Maximum are not currently submitting Magazine sized submissions. If you are interested in submitting Magazine sized books, please contact info@bearmaximum.co.uk. Once we have sufficient interest we will reach out to you for a specific submission.
At this time, we do not currently offer the cleaning and pressing services of CBCS, but we do offer this service through our preferred partner Comic Press starting at just £15 per book.
Cleaning and pressing of your book(s) can give your prized possessions the opportunity for higher grades, so may well be worth the investment, although you are not obliged to utilise this service and there are no guarantees of any outcome.
We hope to offer this service in the future, but do not qualify for approval just yet. It's Bear Maximum's intention to attend conventions to act as a verified witness to authenticate signatures received on your books.
